In simple terms copper and/or aluminium tapes are combined with an earthing system to create a "Faraday Cage". This harmlessly reroutes the massive electrical forces created by lightning away from any susceptible internal systems, and more importantly removes the risk of harm coming to anyone inside the building. Our dedicated team will design, procure and install an LP system to meet your specific needs, with all works being in accordance with BS6651 and upcoming European legislation. Annual electrical resistance tests carried out by our maintenance teams ensure your continued peace of mind. Many clients are often concerned about the aesthetic impact of lightning protection upon a building, but our experienced engineers can work with you to find a solution that's both effective and doesn't detract from a property's appearance. For example any external conducting tapes can be sheathed in PVC to match the colour of the building. Alternatively in modern buildings with internal, structural steelwork we can use these as an integral part of the conduction system - sometimes completely removing the need for external taping.
